PURPOSE: A method for injecting lubricant into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine is provided to allow exact feeding of a comparatively small amount of lubricant at high pressure. CONSTITUTION: A pump(6) is periodically operated to feed lubricant of a predetermined injection rate to a volume chamber(15) inside a lubricating pipe reaching a nozzle valve(13) closed at pressure lower than opening pressure. When pressure progressively rises during feeding of the lubricant to the volume chamber from the pump, the lubricant is temporarily stored in the volume chamber. When pressure of the lubricant inside the volume exceeds the opening pressure of the nozzle valve, the stored lubricant is discharged with being sprayed through the nozzle valve.
