PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of speed change hunting by increasingly varying the interval of shift-down/up points at least between the top and one stage lower speed change stages in a speed change pattern during a constant speed traveling control. CONSTITUTION:A constant speed traveling control means C drives a throttle valve A through an output control means B in accordance with the deviation between a target vehicle speed by a setting means F and an actual vehicle speed detected by a detecting means D to control the output of an engine E, to obtain the target vehicle speed. At the time of this constant speed traveling control, a pattern changing means J changes a speed change pattern according to the signal of the control means A so as to increase the interval of shift-down/ up points at least between the top and one stage lower speed change stages, i.e., hysteresis, to carry out the speed change control of an automatic transmission G through a speed change control means H based on this. Thereby, even if hunting may occur in the change of a throttle opening accompanying the constant speed traveling control, the occurrence of speed change hunting caused by this can be prevented. |
