PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness of speed change by making an oil pressure which is outputted by the third range of a manual valve act as a signal pressure for switching over a shift valve, and using a line pressure fed to the shift valve for the operating pressure for engaging an over-run clutch. CONSTITUTION:By introducing an oil passage 104 which is always fed with oil pressure from a manual valve 52 at the time of advancing to the port 120 of a 3-4 shift valve 68 and, when a third range is selected, the oil pressure in this port 120 is fed to an over-run clutch O/C via an oil passage 122. Thereby, a working fluid for engaging the over-run clutch O/C may pass through only the oil passage 122 from the 3-4 shift valve 68 to the over-run clutch O/C, reducing a flow passage. Accordingly, the overrun clutch O/C can be more rapidly engaged as compared with the case where oil pressure is fed through a long oil passage, enabling speed change with good responsiveness. |
