PURPOSE:To improve the shelf stability of a recording material, by providing on a support a recording layer comprising a diazo compound and a coupling component enclosed in a microcapsule prepared from a specified melamine- aldehyde resin. CONSTITUTION:An outer shell of a microcapsule is formed from a melamine- aldehyde resin prepared from formaldehyde and a melamine compound containing at least 10wt.% di- to pentafunctional melamine derivative, and a diazo compound and a coupling component are enclosed in this microcapsule. A recording layer containing the microcapsule is provided on a support to form a recording material. More particularly, the diazo compound is microencapsulated after being dissolved or disperred in an organic solvent etc. The coupling component etc., are dissolved in water and mixed with the microcapsule dispersion to prepare a coating solution. |
