PURPOSE:To prevent the reflux of the corrosive liq. reaction product to the following supply pipe by connecting the supply pipe for raw materials, etc., to a circulating pipeline for returning a liq. solvent obtained by recovering the solvent vapor generated in a batch reactor to the batch reactor. CONSTITUTION:The raw materials are allowed to react with each other at a pressure higher than normal pressure in the presence of solvent and catalyst to form a corrosive liq. reaction product in the batch reactor 1. In the reactor, for example, an aliphatic group-substituted aromatic compd. is oxidized in a liq. phase by a molecular oxygen-contg. gas to form an aromatic carboxylic acid. The pipeline 2 for recovering the solvent vapor generated in the reaction, and circulating the obtained liq. solvent to the reactor 1 is provided to the reactor 1, and the pipe 3 for supplying the raw materials, solvent, and catalyst is connected to the circulating pipe 2. As a result, the inflow of the corrosive liq. reaction product into the supply pipe 3 can be prevented, and hence the supply pipe need not be made from a corrosion resistant material and can be made from an inexpensive material. |
