PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature for a rotating electric machine which can prevent a winding from being damaged by burrs or steps generated at protrusions formed in a core insulator, and to provide a core insulator which is installed in the armature. SOLUTION: The core insulator 10 is equipped with a cover 32 which covers the end of the core 8 and a bobbin 33 which covers the side of each tooth 25 being extended in the axial direction of the core 8 from both circumferential ends of the cover 32. Protrusions 35 and 36 which face the slot side are formed in the bobbin 33. The protrusions 35 and 36 have with sides 35b and 36b which are formed, in parallel with the bobbin 33, upstream of the winding direction X of the winding 9, and formed with steps 35d and 36d downstream of the winding direction X of the winding 9. Moreover, in a mold for forming the core insulator 10, mold parting surfaces of an upper mold and a lower mold are arranged at the steps 35d and 36d. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
