PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitor system for selecting a network optimum for communication among a plurality of different networks. SOLUTION: This network monitor system includes a broadcasting station 1 provided with a transmitting part 21 for transmitting configuration information about a network formed within a prescribed range as digital information, and a portable communication apparatus 7 provided with a broadcast signal receiving part 23 for receiving the configuration information, a transmitting and receiving part 24 for portable telephone for corresponding to respective different networks to transmit and receive information according to each network, a transmitting and receiving part 25 for a radio LAN, and a transmission and reception control part 29 for selecting either the transmitting and receiving part 23 for portable telephone or the transmitting and receiving part 25 for a radio LAN on the basis of the configuration information.
