HALF-TONE IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS

A half-tone image recording apparatus which rearranges the image data at high speeds and efficiently. The apparatus comprises buffer memories to which the addresses are fixed to correspond to the arrangement of element array, mapping means which allocates image data of n bits transferred from the main memory to predetermined addresses of the buffer memories, and a multiplexer installed between the output side of the buffer memory and the element array drive circuit. The data of bits loaded onto the buffer memory are divided, and the divided bits are collected in the multiplexer to be sent one bit by one bit to the element array drive circuit.
