Disk-brake unit, particularly for motor vehicles, with a calliper body (3) arranged astride a brake disk (4), with two brake pads (15, 16) which face the brake disk (4) on opposite sides and each have a carrier plate (17, 18) for a friction lining (19, 20), and with locking means (50, 51, 54, 55) which are formed on the carrier plates (17, 18) and which lie opposite corresponding counter stops (52, 53) formed on the brake body (3) and serve to hold the brake pads (15, 16) against the brake disk (4) in the tangential direction, there being mounted on each carrier plate (17, 18) a string (43, 48) acting between the calliper body (3) and the respective carrier plate (17, 18) and which serves to hold the stop means (50, 51, 54, 55) constantly against the said counter stops (52, 53). The spring (43, 48) limits the braking noise by eliminating the vibrations of the brake pads (15, 16). <IMAGE>
