SPEED CONTROLLING DEVICE FOR ROLLING MILLS

A rolling pressure detector, is provided with a work position detector disposed directly forwardly of the rolls. A speed controlling operational amplifier varies the proportional gain and integration time constant of a speed controlling section in response to the output signal of the logic circuit. The amplifier is formed from a microprocessor which provides a digitally determined transfer function. The amount of drop of the roll speed is reduced upon introduction of the work, with speed restoration time also reduced.
