<p>PURPOSE:To distinctly discriminate whether or not a next tape is continued in case of a high speed search by providing a prescribed tape-end mark in a prescribed position of a subarea based on a detection of a tape-before-end in a DAT. CONSTITUTION:In case of using the DAT as a data recorder, when the tape- before-end EOD is detected in the midst of recording data Dn to the tape 121, a prescribed listed amble part A is formed, and afterward the tape-end mark EOM is recorded until the end of the tape. After recording the mark EOM, the 2nd tape 122 is then recorded from the beginning with the remaining data Dn is succession, and then the part A is recorded and followed by a read-out mark RO recorded in a prescribed length. In case of the EOD, when the data Dn is just completed, the part A is recorded and then the mark RO is recorded until the end of the tape. By this method, in case of the high speed search, by detecting the mark EOM or the mark RO, the EOD or the end of the tape can thus be discriminated.</p> |
