PURPOSE:To shut off corrosion current and to prevent the galvanic corrosion of metals by providing means of insulating base metals even it a potential difference is generated by contact of said metals with noble metals via the sea water by the damage, etc. of linings of a heat exchanger using the sea water as cooling water. CONSTITUTION:Insulators 11, 15 for shutting off current are inserted into the corrosion current passages by the damage of the above-mentioned linings between the heat exchanger such as condenser 2 equipped with a cooling pipe 3 made of the noble metals such as Ti and ancillary apparatus such as inlet water chamber 6 and bent pipe 9 made of steel lined on the inside surfaces as well as between the above-mentioned apparatus and a building 12 and a foundation 14. Insulated flanges 11 are provided between a bent pipe 9 branched from the upper part of the water chamber 6 and opened in a drain pit 16 and the water chamber 6 and just before the end of the bent pipe 9 opening into the pit 16; further, insulated supports 15 are preferably provided to the members for supporting the bent pipe 9 to the building 12 of a steel frame construction, etc. |
