PURPOSE:To provide the above refractory castable having excellent resistance to the infiltration of slag, corrosion resistance, etc., by incorporating a specified amt. of shell powder and/or bone metal into the refractory aggregate selected from magnesia clinker, spinel clinker, and magnesia-chrome clinker. CONSTITUTION:About 1-15wt.% shell powder and/or bone meal is incorporated into about 75-95wt.% of at least one kind of the aggregate selected from magnesia clinker, spinel clinker, and magnesia-chrome clinker. An appropriate binder (e.g., dil. amine silicate soln.) is added to the obtained composition, and the mixture is kneaded to obtain a basic refractory castable. The obtained basic refractory castable can be stably mixed with water, and is appropriately used as the lining material especially for a molten metal vessel such as a ladle. |
