Device commemorative of the French Revolution allowing simultaneous reading of the time according to the decimal (republican) system and the duodecimal system. It consists of a dial A including two concentric circles B and C, one B divided into 5 equal parts (republican hours), themselves sub-divided into 10 equal parts (tenths) or, according to a variant intended for large-sized dials, into 100 equal parts (hundredths); the other C divided into 12 equal parts (hours in the duodecimal system), themselves sub-divided into 5 equal parts. The relationship of the two circles is such that 5 on the circle B corresponds to 12 on the circle C. The device according to the invention is particularly intended to replace the conventional 12-hour dial on clock mechanisms designed for reading the time using hands, the reading of the republican hour, tenths and hundredths being carried out with the customary hour hand. <IMAGE>
