PURPOSE:To provide a printer which enables free setting of the number of printing characters per unit line length on the receiving side by arranging a changeover circuit for selecting and outputting several kinds of signals and a font control section for setting the number of printing characters per unit line length receiving the output thereof. CONSTITUTION:A changeover circuit 1 is composed of a changeover switch 2 having a plurality of terminals A-C and a resistance R connected between each of the terminals A-C and a power source P and the terminals A-C are connected to a CPU3 as font control section, to which an ROM4 and an RAM5 are connected. When signals transmitted from the changeover circuit 1 are selected by setting a dial 9 to 1-8, a corresponding signal is inputted into the CPU3 to set the number of print characters per 1 inch. |
