#CMT# #/CMT# Depolluting aquifers and soil in saturated zone using a device that enhances bacterial degradation by sulfate-reducing anaerobic bacteria, comprises a sulfate supply in the saturated zone under reducing conditions using sulfated solutions or sulfated salts. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The process is useful for treating the organic substances such as hydrocarbons, volatile aromatic compounds, halogenated volatile organic compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and leachable heavy metals by sulfide precipitation contained in saturated soil and ground water by natural sulfate-reducing anaerobic bacteria. #CMT#ENVIRONMENT : #/CMT# Preferred Process: The process is done by adding excess salt having limited solubility, such as calcium sulfate, without having aid neither by pumping of ground water, nor by injections or repeated supply. The sulfated salts in the form of liquid or solid are introduced in boring, well, piezometer, in diggings or rigid inclusions in ground water.
