<p>PURPOSE:To optionally set a large rear wheel steering angle in both the same phase and the opposite phase by engaging one of the pair of racks of a longitudinally moving frame interlocked with the steering of front wheels with the pinion of an output shaft for reciprocating a rear wheel steering tie rod. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 12a is steered, e.g., rightward, front wheels 2 are steered rightward by means of a front wheel steering mechanism 20. At the same time, the screw shaft 19 of a steering angle control mechanism 16 is rotated via an input shaft 11 forwardly moving a longitudinally moving frame 31 while rotating the pinion 33 of a rear wheel steering mechanism 18 counterclockwise. As a result, rear wheels 29 are also steered rightward. When the steered angle of the front wheels 2 reaches a defined value, an electronic control device 64 switches over an oil pressure control valve 65. Thereupon, the longitudinally moving frame 31 is moved rightward by means of an actuator 41 engaging one rack 17 with the pinion 33. As a result, the pinion 33 is rotated clockwise to steer the rear wheels 29 leftward.</p> |
