The compound which is 2,3,3a,3b,4,5,6,6a,7,7a-decahydro-4,6,7-metheno-1H-cyclopenta[a]pental ene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid is useful as an intermediate for production of the corresponding anhydride from which several of the disclosed antipsychotic/anxiolytic agents are prepared.
