A broadcasting signal processing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to adjust an image without closing the execution of an application program, thereby solving inconvenience that a user has to close the application program for adjusting the image. A signal receiving unit(110) receives a broadcasting signal including an application program for providing broadcasting information. A signal processing unit(120) performs the signal processing of the broadcasting signal for displaying an image based on the broadcasting signal received by the signal receiving unit. A control unit(130) which consists of a RAM(132), a ROM(131) and a CPU(133) stops the execution of the application program and controls the signal processing unit to adjust an image when the adjustment conditions of the displayed image are satisfied while the broadcasting information is provided by the execution of the application program. A user input unit(140) receives the indication of a user for adjusting the image.
