In the mfr. of diamond abrasive tools by applying a layer of abrasive powder contg. diamond grains onto a blank and applying force to the coated blank face using a hard alloy element to embe the abrasive powder in the blank, the novelty is that the abrasive powder is embedded in the blank by subjecting the blank to one or more shock pulses of 200-800 kN/sec. and to a hard alloy element rotating at 900-2500 revolutions per sec.
