PURPOSE:To provide superior sensitivity of an electrophotographic sensitive body also in a short wavelength region and to improve is durability by using an azo dye expressed by a specified formula in a charge generating layer and incorporating polyamide resin into an intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:An electroconductive base capable of forming an electric charge having reversed polarity to an applied electric charge and a specified electric resistance and being durable under film-forming conditions of a charge generating layer, charge transfer layer, and undercoated layer, is adopted. The charge transfer layer is formed by dispersing a charge transfer material and a resin binder in a solvent and applying the mixture to the surface of an electroconductive base body and drying. An azo dye expressed by the formula is incorporated into the charge generating layer and an intermediate layer comprising polyamide resin is formed as a protective layer for charge injection due to corona charge on the layer. Further, abrasion resistance and scratch resistance of the sensitive body are improved by forming a protective layer on the intermediate layer. |
