PURPOSE:To achieve exposure, display, and control regardless of the position of a main object in a photographed image plane by detecting the way that a photographing lens is focused in plural areas or points in a field, selecting a specific part out of them as a focusing part and selecting the photometric value of a photometric area which corresponds to said focusing part. CONSTITUTION:An automatic focus detecting device 4 detects focuses respectively in plural focus detecting sensitivity areas. Out of these areas, a focusing detecting sensitivity area including an object nearest the device for example, is automatically selected. Automatic focus adjustment is performed so as to focus the photographing lens 1 on the object. At the same time, exposure, display, and control are performed at the output value of a spot photometric element 10, the sensitivity area of which overlaps said focus detecting sensitivity area. Thus, regardless of the position of the main object in a finder visual field, appropriate automatic focus adjustment and the spot photometry of the main object can be performed. |
