<p>PURPOSE:To realize the simple and accurate input of two different types of information by using a means which detects the relative shift value of a ring in the 2-dimensional direction on the surface of installation of an information input device and a digitizer means which performs the input of the absolute coordinates set on the input device. CONSTITUTION:An information input device 1 is operated on an operating pad 8 having the prescribed patterns in the X and Y directions. A reflective photosensor 2 reads the patterns of the pad 8 and counts the number of these pattern to detect the shift values in the X and Y directions on the surface of installation of the device 1. A small digitizer 3 is set at a prescribed part on the upper surface of the device 1 for input the absolute coordinate information. In addition, a ring 6 is provided at a part of the upper surface of the device 1. The ring 6 is put on a prescribed finger of an operator and the device 1 can be moved in the desired direction on the pad 8. In such a way, two operating systems are unified together for input of the relative shift value and the absolute coordinates. Thus it is possible to simply and surely ensure the input of two different types of information with no switch required between operating systems.</p> |
