The invention relates to a built-in lamp for aquarium covers, consisting of an elongate lamp carrier with mounts attached thereto for fluorescent lamps tubes. The lamp carrier which is designed to accommodate a ballast device has a cross-section of rectangular to square shape and is closed on all sides in a watertight manner. To simplify the construction and the production of the built-in lamp, the lamp carrier is to consist of two sheet-metal blanks which have edge strips which are in each case bent to form side walls or end walls. The sheet-metal blanks are joined, and the abutting edges between the side walls and end walls of each sheet-metal blank and the abutting edges and/or the end (abutting) faces between the joined sheet-metal blanks are connected by and sealed with an adhesive based on silicone. |
