The method involves measuring vertical efforts from tires of four wheels of a motor vehicle to ground. Mass of the motor vehicle is estimated by applying the measurement to the relation of the fundamental law of dynamics in a vertical direction, where the mass is estimated from measurements of two vertical load sensors and a longitudinal acceleration sensor using computing units.
