<p>In order to join together two lengths of continuous paper having registration holes spaced parallel to their longitudinal edges, the two lengths are positioned on a support (1) bearing two sets of registration pins (2) and (3) such that the registration pins (2) or (3) are engaged with the registration holes in a respective one of the lengths of paper and such that the two end edges of the lengths of paper to be joined are aligned. The lengths of paper are then clamped with their end edges aligned on the support (1) by means of a clamp member (8) which is pivoted down into its holding position in which it contacts both lengths of paper. The end edges are then joined by a length of adhesive tape having perforations therealong dispensed from an adhesive tape dispenser (13). By joining together lengths of paper in this manner, it can be ensured that the supply of paper to a printer does not run out over a long print run.</p> |
