PURPOSE:To prevent a rolled steel sheet from seizing to the roll surface generating while the plate is transported, by heating the roll surface made of low- alloy steel by using a flame in an oxidative atmosphere, and forming an oxidized layer. CONSTITUTION:Plural burners are arranged throughout the whole surface of heating range of the surface of a roll 1, and the surface is heated in an oxidative atmosphere at 300-400 deg.C for >=4hr by subjecting the surface to the flame produced by burning acetylene gas or propane gas, etc. At this time, the roll 1 is heated while rotating it, but a warp of the roll 1 is produced when it is heated nonuniformly. Further, the oxidation advances extremely slowly when the roll 1 is heated at <=300 deg.C, and when heated at high temperature, it affects the roll 1 in its material property as well as it makes the roll unusable. Further in a case of keeping the roll 1 only at high temperature in an non-oxidation furnace, an oxidation reaction is not caused, and accordingly an oxydized layer is not obtained. |
