PURPOSE:To obtain a pulse train laser beam by operating a switching element provided in the entrance stage of a high voltage transformer for a short time to generate a pulsed high DC voltage. CONSTITUTION:A switching element 17 is provided in the entrance stage of a high voltage transformer 13, such switching element 17 being operated for a short time to generate a pulsed high dc voltage. In other words, for example, the switching element 17 is connected to the primary side of a booster type transformer so that it serves to allow the transformer to conduct or nonconduct with a dc power. Control is implemented by designating an operating time of the switching element 17 as an externally set signal and an output voltage of the secondary side of the booster transformer as a feedback signal. This allows a high dc discharge voltage for generating a pulse laser with carbon dioxide to be generated, whereby the pulsed operation of a carbon dioxide- generated laser can be achieved. |
