PURPOSE:To manufacture a vacuum switch tube excellent in low welding, low current and large current breaking efficiency by using a material which contains low melting point metal for one electrode of a vacuum switch tube and using a material which doesn't contain low melting point metal for the other electrode so as to simplify the composition of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:The vacuum container 1 of a vacuum switch tube is constituted of an insulator and a fixed end cover 2 and a movable end cover 3 are arranged for the vacuum container 1. Inside this vacuum container 1, a fixed electrode 7 fixed to a fixed electrode bar 5 and a movable electrode 8 fixed to a movable electrode bar 6 are arranged, and pollution at the inside face of the vacuum container 1 due to the metal steam generated by the fixed and movable electrodes 7, 8 at opening or closing of current is prevented by a shield 9, and inside air-tight is held by bellows 4 provided between the fixed and movable electrodes 7, 8. This fixed electrode 7 is made of material which contain the specified amount of low melting point metal and the movable electrode 8 is made of material which doesn't contain the low melting point metal so as to lower the cut current at the contacting interface between a couple of electrodes at application of large current. |
