FIELD: electricity. ^ SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to electrified transport and may be used in thrust power supply systems to define place of short-circuit to a support fittings. According to the invention, electro-physical parametres of support fittings are measured. Then measured parametres are matched with the location of each support and results are compared with the value measured at short circuit. Based on this, the occurrence of short circuit is defined. Data on short-circuit occurrence and location is transferred to final receiver via integrated into information network radio channels limited by distance - from one support to another one. The received information on short-circuit occurrence and location is processed, stored and displayed. The device contains supports 1 of contact circuit 4 in electrified transport, rail 5, spark gaps 6 made between contact circuit 4 supports fittings 2 and rail 5. Energy-independent recorder 7 input is coupled with each support fittings 2 either electrically or electromagnetically or electro mechanically. The recorder output is connected to energy-independent receiver/transmitter 8 input with limited receiving/transmitting range.
