PURPOSE:To produce a calcium phosphate-based set material having excellent moldability and strength, by blending calcined hydroxyapatite having a specific Ca/P ratio with a solution prepared by dissolving a polysaccharide in an aqueous solution of citric acid containing glycerin and a saccharide. CONSTITUTION:Hydroxyapatite having a ratio of Ca/P of 1.5<-1.8 is calcined at 1,150-1,450 deg.C under reduced pressure to give dust comprising a mixture of calcium alpha-phosphate and tetracalcium phosphate. The dust is blended with a solution which is prepared by dissolving a polysaccharide such as chitosan in an aqueous solution of citric acid obtained by adding one or more of glycerin, saccharide and sugaralcohol and set. In the operation, the amount of the dust blended based on the solution is preferably 0.4-2.7 by weight ratio. Properly the aqueous solution of citric acid has >=30wt.% citric acid, 5-40wt.% total concentration of glycerin, saccharide and sugaralcohol and >=0.05wt.% polysaccharide. Consequently, a set material showing excellent moldability in blending and high strength after setting free from harm to organism tissue is obtained. |
