PURPOSE:To obtain a color image without a mixture of colors and the disturbance of image by arranging nip density in a first developing roll in a first developing stage so as to becomes smaller than the nip density in the second developing roll. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 10 rotates in a direction shown by an arrow and an electrostatic latent image corresponding to a first color is formed on the photosensitive layer 10a of the drum 10 by a 1st exposing means 2a. Then toner in accordance with the first color is supplied to the layer 10a having the 1st electrostatic latent image so as to develop the image by a 1st developing means 3a. Two developing rolls 31 and 32 are used as the means 3a. In such a case, the rolls 31 and 32 are arranged so that the nip density [m/g, (m) means the thickness of the toner layer and (g) means a space between the layer 10a and the roll 31) in the first roll 31, between two rolls 31 and 32, becomes smaller than that in the roll 32. Thus, a formed toner image possesses a high electrification quantity and sufficient image density, the image is not disturbed in the above-mentioned developing staged 3a. |
