The slider has a Y-shaped coupling elements guide channel (7), and carries a locking member (3) which has a locking prong (20) movable through a hole (10) in the slider into and out of the guide channel in the region where coupling elements are brought into and out of mesh. The prong is normally urged into the guide channel into contact with the head (32) of an unmeshed coupling element (31), pref. a smooth abutment surface of the prong, which is inclined or orthogonal. The fastener can be pulled apart manually without damage because coupling element heads can ratchet beneath the applied locking prong.
