PURPOSE:To improve the reproducibility of a stereoscopic image and to widen the angle where the stereoscopic image is satisfactorily seen, by mixing <=1% multicolor coloring matters by weight with a liquid crystal material to constitute a liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:<=1% multicolor coloring matters 30 by weight are mixed with liquid crystal materials 25 to constitute a liquid crystal panel 15, and the molecules of the multicolor coloring matters 30 have the same size as the molecules of liquid crystal materials 25 and have a shape like a grain of rice. When an electric field is applied to the liquid crystal panel 15, molecules of multicolor coloring matters 30 are arranged in the same direction as molecules of liquid crystal materials 25, and this liquid crystal panel has the same transmittance as that of a liquid crystal panel where multicolor coloring matters 30 are not mixed. In this case, the contrast on the same side of the polarizing face of a polarizing plate 13 provided to a moving picture display device 3 and the polarizing face of spectacles 16 is equal to that of conventional devices. Consequently, its image is balanced as the whole and the influence of elliptically polarized light is eliminated. Thus, the reproducibility of the stereoscopic image is improved and the angle where the stereoscopic image is satisfactorily seen is widened. |
