PURPOSE:To obtain respective synthesizing pictures excellent in picture quality without slipping off of position and a superimposed part even when one picture is read by plural scannings by providing a RAM for horizontal direction input data and a RAM for longitudinal direction input data. CONSTITUTION:When a picture larger than the reading range of a picture reader is read, the picture is scanned in a prescribed direction including a reference point for positioning a picture at plural times. Namely, two scannings (main scanning) including a reference point are executed in the horizontal direction and respective read image-pick-up data are stored in a RAM 5 for horizontal direction input data. At least one scanning (sub-scanning) is executed in the longitudinal direction and respective read image-pick-up data are stored into a RAM 6 for longitudinal direction input data, so as to include respective reference points in respective pictures. Two horizontal input data read by the main scanning stored through a synthesizing switch SC of a switch part into the RAM 5 are corrected based on one longitudinal input datum stored in the RAM 6 and synthesized, and thus, the excellent picture without slipping off of position and the superimposed part can be obtained. |
