PURPOSE:To independently exchange a workroll and further, to simultaneously and efficiently exchange workroll and intermediate roll by providing an exchanging functional part for both of the workrolls and the intermediate rolls. CONSTITUTION:A multistage rolling mill is provided with one pair of workrolls 1 as a center, two pairs of a 1st intermediate rolls 2, three pairs of a 2nd intermediate rolls 3 and four pairs of packing bearings 4 as disposed successively. The roll exchanging device 10 used for the workrolls 1 and the 1st intermediate rolls 2 required frequent exchanging are composed of a traveling truck 11, lifting table 12, turning bed 13, workroll truck 14, work roll frame 15, intermediate roll holder 16 and intermediate roll frame 17. Therefore, the traveling distance of the new and old rolls 1, 2, between the roll housing 5 and the workroll frame 15, the intermediate roll frame 17 are minimized and at the time of exchanging the lightweight workrolls, the manual operation is adopted and the heavy intermediate rolls 2 are exchanged mechanically. |
