Boring device (1) with a radially adjustable cutting tool (8) which has an integrally formed measuring portion (6) at the end face on the tool head (2). The integrally formed measuring portion (6) can be designed as a projecting lug or recess on the closing plate forming part of the guide arrangement of the tool carrier (11). Furthermore, a carrier (20) which can be fixed to the tool head (2) and is designed as a magnet rider is provided for accommodating a dial gauge (21), the feeler (22) of which is tangent to the supporting surface (23) of the tool carrier (11). By the combination of the proposed constructional features, the boring device (1) is suitable both for setting to the rough-finishing size by means of caliper gauge (28) of the cutting tool (8) and, after measuring the bore made with this tool, for readjusting the tool carrier (11) by means of a dial gauge (21) for machining to the final size. <IMAGE>
