PURPOSE:To simplify the titled device and to reduce the price of the device by automatically extracting features such as the positional coordinates of feature points on a fingerprint image, a pattern direction, the number of projected lines existing among nearby feature points, and the sorts of feature points on an input density image. CONSTITUTION:Features such as the positional coordinates of feature points on a fingerprint image extracted from a fingerprint image input part 100 for extracting the density fingerprint image of a finger set on a transparent body and photoelectrically converting the image, a pattern direction, the number of projected lines existing among nearby feature points, the sorts of feature points are automatically extracted from the input density image and a feature file is formed by a feature extracting part 110. Thus, a feature extracting device based upon a simple and inexpensive personal computer system can be obtained. |
