PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body to have no rise of residual potential even under high temperature and high humidity, high acceptance potential, and low dark decay, and to form a good-quality image by using a polyvinyl alcohol resin for an undercoat layer, and a polyvinyl formal resin for the binder resin of an electric charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body comprises a conductive substrate 4, the undercoat layer 3 made of the polyvinyl alcohol resin, the charge generating layer 2 using the polyvinyl formal resin for the binder resin, and a charge transfer layer 1. As the polyvinyl alcohol resin, the one having a saponification degree of 60-95mol% is preferable, if below 60mol%, it becomes soluble in the solvent coating the upper layer, and if above 95mol%, it tends to gel, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be superior in stability at the time of repeated uses, and to form an image good in image quality and free from image defects, such as partial image dropout, white spots, and white streaks. |
