PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil strainer capable of restricting air lock at an oil pump at the time of starting driving of an oil pump.SOLUTION: An oil strainer 10 comprises: a screen 30 arranged in a housing 20 so as to define an inside part of the housing 20 into an area [a dirty side] at an inlet 24 side and an area [a clean side] at an outlet 23 side to catch foreign objects in oil; and frame-like rubber packings 40 arranged along an outer circumferential part of the screen 30 and between the screen 30 and the housing 20. The rubber packing 40 is formed to be foldable like a bellows. When driving of an oil pump 15 is stopped, the rubber packing extends by its own weight and weights of the screen 30 and a retainer 31. When the oil pump 15 is driven, the screen 30 attached to the retainer 31 is sucked together with oil by a suction force of the oil pump 15 to cause the rubber packing is shrunk.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
