In such containers, there is a constant risk to the user that gases arising or, in the case of ignition, flames escape from the filling opening because there is a direct access to the inside of the container during filling. The known measures to reduce this risk, i.e. a non-return valve or deeply penetrating inlet parts or a liquid receiving tank, necessitate great constructional outlay and detract from the operating convenience and functional reliability. The new container is to be user-friendly and safer. In order to rule out any reflux from the filling opening and nevertheless to guarantee a high degree of operating convenience, the filling device (E) is designed as a lock (S) in which the lid (5) and closure (V) can only be opened alternately. Owing to the lock which, from the outset, prevents direct access to the inside of the container, the container is suitable for the disposal, storage and transportation of waste substances and dangerous products of most risk categories (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
