PURPOSE:To enable a rider to smoothly get on or off a rear seat by forwardly moving a seat at a high speed in spite of a power seat sliding device. CONSTITUTION:When adjusting the position of a seat, a screw bar 6 is connected to an upper rail 2 via a lock member. Therefore, the position of the seat can be longitudinally adjusted by moving the upper rail 2 by the force of a motor 5. On the other hand, when carrying out a rapid feed, this connection can be released by releasing engagement between the lock member and the screw bar 6. Thereby, the upper rail 2 can be forwardly moved without being restrained by the screw bar 6, also moving the seat forwardly together with the upper rail 2. This movement has no connection with the speed of rotation of the motor 5 and, therefore, can be carried out at a high speed. |
