Parallelogram-shaped indexable insert

A parallelogram-shaped indexable insert for cutting tools, in particular milling tools, is described in which the fastening bore is arranged eccentrically so that the respectively following indexable insert can be used in an alternating manner. This ensures that all cutting edges of the indexable insert are always in engagement at the end face and that overlapping of the chip grooves is effected by the alternate arrangement. Vibrations are avoided by unequal cutting-edge spacing, as a result of which the cutting action is improved and a better surface quality and longer tool life are achieved. <IMAGE>
