Prepn. of a homogeneous population of aq. liq. encapsulating multi lamellar lipid vesicles of mean dia. 150-3,000 nm comprises (i) adding to a vessel, lipid(s) in an organic solvent, (ii) drying to form a thin lipid film on the vessel walls; (iii) adding the aq. liq. and a collection of contact masses of ave. dia. 50-3,000 microns; and (iv) agitating to form the vesicles; or (2) (i) adding to a vessel, lipid(s) in an organic solvent; (ii) adding the aq. liq. and a 1st. coelation of contact masses; (iii) agitating to form a 1st collection of multilammelar vesicles; and (iv) agitation the vesicles in presence of a 2nd collection of contact masses to form a 2nd. collection of multilameller vesicles of desired size. |
