A t.v. or monitor screen consists of inner (1) and outer (3) layers, both convex towards the outside. The inner layer is transparent and has a spherical surface. The outer layer is of clear, grey, or machine grey glass, and is curved in one direction only, the radius of curvature being somewhat greater than that of the inner layer. The layers are bonded together by an injection moulding resin medium (5) having the same refractive index as the two layers. - The front layer (3) may be cylindrically curved about a vertical axis. The front layer may have a multi-layer quarter wavelength surface coating (14). The rear surface (12) of the front layer may have a conducting earthed anti-static layer. The conductive layer may be of metal, metal coating, or a metallic suspension, e.g. chromium, stainless steel, or a silicide, and may be such that the optical transmission index is reduced by about on third in comparision with an uncoated screen.
