<p>An automatically self-cleaning dust separator capable of removing particles or dust from very fine to coarse particle sizes includes a filter section consisting of a number of parallel vertical tubular (bag) filters and a device which intermittently blows clean air into the filters in furnin the direction opposite to normal air flow. The separator has a cylindrical housing with a conically tapered lower section closed at its narrow lower end bya rotary valve. Damage to or blockage of filter elements is avoided by removal of coarse particles by cyclonic action prior to filtration. Reverse flow cleaning as carried out using filtered air to avoid mud-formation associated with lube-oil and condensate in compressed air lines.</p> |
