摘要 PURPOSE:To have flat discharge potential, make it difficult for fine pulverization to occur, and provide a longer life by using Zr-Mn type alloy having MgZn type labeth phase structure as the base, and adding specific elements thereto. CONSTITUTION:To manufacture Zr-Mn type alloy having MgZn2 type labeth phase structure, material is put in an arc fusion furnace under argon atmosphere and is made by arc discharge processing. As material Zr, Mn, Al, Sb, Sn are used in the composition ZrMnxAy (where A is at least one of the elements Al, Sb, Sn, and 1.7<=x<=2.5, 0<y<=0.15). Upon weighting, they are pressed and put into use. The obtained alloy is crushed mechanically to particle sizes under 50mu and mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) powder as a binder, which is wrapped by Ni netting followed by pressure molding to accomplish a hydrogen absorption alloy electrode.
