PURPOSE:To cause a delay in a packet exchange to be small by forming plural ports into a supergroup, and simultaneously, providing a line switching equipment to be controlled by means of a switch control part. CONSTITUTION:In a line switching equipment 10, channels (CHB and CHD) 1-8 to pass a B or D channel packet are accommodated. At present, when the call of a packet call from the CHB1 to the CHB2 is executed, a switch control part 30 hunts unoccupied ports 210 and 211 to belong to the same group, and issues a command, to the equipment 10, to connect the CHBs 1 and 2 to respective ports 210 and 211. When the call of the packet call from the CHB8 to the CHB2 is executed, the control part 30 hunts an unoccupied port 212 to belong to the same group as the port 211 to accommodate CHB2, and issues the command, to the equipment 10, to connect the CHB8 to the port 212.
