FORM DEVICE FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL CHARACTER

PURPOSE:To facilitate a cubic form a 3-dimensional characters with an ornament given onto the surface by laying out the 2-dimensional characters on a 3-dimensional space after converting them once into the 3-dimensional characters and then converting again these 3-dimensional characters into a 2-dimensional picture together with application of an ornament. CONSTITUTION:A 3-dimensional character font is produced from a 2-dimensional character font for all characters to be used to a form. The characters are laid out in a 3-dimensional coordinate system by means of the 3-dimensional character font. Then the 3-dimensional characters laid out to the 3-dimensional coordinate system are projected on a 2-dimensional plane and the picture elements forming a 2-dimensional picture are allocated to the projected 3-dimensional characters via a rendering process. In such a way, the 2-dimensional characters are once converted into 3-dimensional ones and laid out on a 3-dimensional space. Then these 3-dimensional characters are converted again into a 2-dimensional picture with application of an ornament. Thus it is possible to easily obtain a cubic form of 3-dimensional characters with an ornament applied onto the surface.
