NEW MATERIAL:UCN-01 shown by the formula. USE:An antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A bacterium [e.g., Streptomyces sp.UCN-01 strain (FERM P-990)] belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing UCN-01, is cultivated by submerged spinner culture and UCN-01 is isolated from the culture filtrate and purified. UCN-01 is administered in the form of tablet or capsule produced by ordinary method. For example, when an antitumor agent is used in the for of the tablet, the content of UCN-01 in the agent is 0.1-85wt.% and when used in the form of injection, the content is properly 0.05-50mg based on 2-50ml agent. |
